Pocklington Canal evening walk 3rd August

POCKLINGTON CANAL WALK on TUESDAY 3rd AUGUST, meeting at 6.30PM at HAGG BRIDGE (SE716451).

We hope there will be rejoicing that the YOC is going to be putting an evening walk on in just over a week’s time – our first Club outing for well over a year!  For those of you that still have the PDF of the 2021 Programme, you will know that we were hoping to go to Hagg Wood and Hassacarr, however there is an issue with accessing the wood as one entrance is now closed and Hassacarr is a bit tricky for social distancing, so Terry has suggested that we walk along POCKLINGTON CANAL instead.

The revised plan therefore is to go ahead with a walk, but given the rising number of cases of COVID in the country, and that it would therefore be sensible to keep social distancing if possible, we are limiting numbers to 20. We will be meeting at Hagg Bridge where we will split into two groups (of a maximum of 10 people per group). One group will walk one way along the canal (led by Terry Weston), while the other group will walk the other way (group leader still to be decided).

Please email Jonathan Begbie on if you are intending to come on the walk, ideally putting Pocklington Canal Walk as the subject header.  These places will be on a first come first served basis and you will receive an email confirming that you are one of the 20.
