This is a volunteer-led project aiming to support Common Swifts in the York area. Swifts are declining due to the loss of aerial insect food and a loss of nesting sites. Many Swifts nest in house and building roofs and as these have been modernised, Swifts have lost their nest sites. Installing nestboxes in suitable locations can provide Swifts with alternative nesting sites. York Swifts can offer advice on the suitability of locations for nestboxes, where to get nestboxes from and how to attract Swifts. Please note, they are unable to install nestboxes.

They also have links to vets who are willing to rehabilitate grounded Swifts and their chicks.
