Woodlark, Lullula arborea

Local status: Rare breeding species

This species breeds in small numbers in the York area, following recolonisation in 2001, having formerly bred in the area up to the 1960s. The records prior to 2001 are listed.

2000: Allerthorpe Common, 20th August to 7th September. Eight.
1968: Skipwith Common, 24th April. Singing male.

Unsubstantiated Records:
1998: Sutton-on-Derwent, 17th to 20th December. No description submitted.
