Red-breasted Flycatcher, Ficedula parva
Local status: Very rare vagrant
A scarce autumn drift migrant along the Yorkshire coast, but very rare inland. The autumn record presumably relates to a migrant filtering inland from, or even overshooting, the east coast. The spring record at Skipwith Common is exceptional and must have been a real treat for the finders.
Records:
1991: Burnholme Wood, Heworth, 16th October. Female.
1975: Skipwith Common, 27th to 28th May 1975. Male.
