Field meetings 2026
We are pleased to publish our programme of outdoor meetings for 2026. We will meet close to the destination. Note that these are not organised excursions but a chance to meet up with other members to do some birding. Most are day meetings on a Sunday but we do have some evening events as well.
Details will be circulated via YorkBirding email, the website and at Zoom meetings. Please remember to bring waterproofs, packed lunch and drinks for days out. If you have a specific query, please contact the secretary ().
We have tried to indicate how long trips are (you are welcome to leave earlier on full days if you only want to do a half day). All trips are suitable for everyone, whatever your level of birding expertise. If you are a beginner and want more input, please let the leader know and we will all do our best to help you; see also the extra trips below.

The trips above are open to all birders but two extra trips are planned to improve confidence in identifying bird groups that less experienced birders can find difficult They will be limited to 10 people and led by John Lawton.
