Black Kite, Milvus migrans

Local status: Very rare vagrant

A species with a very high rejection rate by rarities committees due to the identification difficulties caused by other medium-sized raptors, especially Marsh Harrier, Circus aeroginosus. Two other records; from Brayton Barff on 29th April 1994 and Rowntrees Park, York on 22nd June 2003 were published by the YOC but rejected by the BBRC.
